I’m not going to lie to youĚý— when it comes to beauty products, I often enjoy the finer things in life. My favourite concealer is from and you won’t catch me giving up my anytime soon. A few drugstore gems, however, have squeezed their way into my daily makeup routine, one of my holy grails being the in the shade 90’s Nude.
I discovered it after losing my previous go-to, in Humble —Ěý a rose mauve shade that I have since repurchased and still wear every now and again. Both have a nude “my lips but better” look, allowing me to overline to my heart’s content. The Rare Beauty formula is on the creamier side, but both formulas last for hours without budging. What really stands out to me is the price difference: the Rare Beauty liner costs $21 (which is still relatively affordable in terms of Sephora products) and the Rimmel lip liner rings in under $7 (that’s basically a Grande coffee at Starbucks).
Now let’s get into the details about this game-changing little wonder. The Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lip Liner is, as the name suggests, long-wearing (it has seen me through many a night out). It has a soft, creamy texture that makes application a breeze and it doesn’t bleed or feather. It’s also certified cruelty-free, which is always a major win in my book.
There are 11 shades available, ranging from soft, muted hues to punchy reds and bright pinks. I haven’t strayed outside my nude comfort zone just yet, but if I ever find a red lipstick that speaks to me, you better believe I’ll be placing an order.
